Ionie Banner

Ionie has been a Club member for twelve years. She has ben a daily attendee of the After School Program, spent almost every summer with the Club Camp and has played almost every sport offered. At school, she places academics first, takes many AP classes and is a leader within her school Spanish Club. She is an integral part of the school’s basketball program. She volunteers wishing her community through Big Brothers Big Sisters and has served within her school’s mentoring program for three years. Ionie is a senior at Penn Hills High School and will be attending University of Chicago on full scholarship.

About our Youth of the Year


Lorin Welsh - Carnegie Club 

Lorin has been a Club member for 12 years. She participates in the Golf program, volunteers with the After School Program, and works as a Lead Counselor over the summer. Lorin is a member of the National Honor Society, an active student athlete, student government member, theater member, newspaper contributor, and manager of the marching band. Lorin is a senior attending Carlynton High School. She will be attending Roberto Morris to study finance. 

Nathanial Dwayne Mosley, Jr. - Duquesne West Mifflin Club 

Nathaniel has been a nine year member of the Club. He has a big personality and loves to perform at Club talent shows, holiday programs, or within his church choir. Nate has been a very active member participating in sports, arts and crafts, and “Be Great”, “Smart Moves”, and other programs. Nate truly enjoys helping younger members with homework. Nate is currently attending West Mifflin Area High School and looks forward to attending Duquesne University while pursuing a career as a teacher.  

QIYADAR MUQTADIR - Estelle S. Campbell Club 

Qiydar has been a Club member for over 10 years. He is involved with all of the leadership programs within the Club. He is also a member of the “Keystone Club” and enjoys serving his community with local projects. When he’s not volunteering, he is creating and loves the arts. Qiyadar loves working with the younger kids and whenever there is a disagreement Qiyadar always tries to ‘keep the peace’. He is currently a sophomore at Imani Christian Academy. He looks forward to attending the the University of Pittsburgh with a major in Graphic Design. 

 Jamar Mosby, Jr. - LaRosa Club 

Jamar has been a Club member for over two years and was introduced to the Club through the Great Start program while fulfilling a community obligation. Through his sound advice, honest guidance, and work within the Club, he has gained the respect and admiration of all. He enjoys playing basketball with younger Club members during the summer program. He is proud to work two jobs and be an example to younger members. Jamar is a senior at McKeesport High School and hopes to attend Youngstown State University pursing a degree in business management and minoring in journalism.  

Skylar Buchman- Northern Area Club 

Skylar is a four year Club member. She’s involved in nearly every program offered. Skylar is a junior staff member and has been involved with the Club’s Torch Program for quite some time. She has over 200+ volunteer hours, and she can be seen helping out with lunch, snacks, and organizing. She particularly enjoys the senior outreach program and enjoys volunteering with Girl Scout’s troops efforts within the community. She currently attends Shaler Area High School and looks forward to enrolling in a veterinary technician collegiate program.

Ionie has been a Club member for twelve years. She has ben a daily attendee of the After School Program, spent almost every summer with the Club Camp and has played almost every sport offered. Isaiah Blanchard - Sto-Ken-Rox Club

Isaiah has been a Club member for seven years. He has been a leader within the Dapper Dan Sports Program at this Club. When not working as a coach with the Club Sports program, Isaiah enjoys participating with the “Be Great” program. Isaiah can always be seen helping the Club staff out wherever there is a need. He has particularly enjoyed serving the younger Club members as a counselor and help with kitchen lunch and snacks. Isaiah is currently a sophomore at Sto-Rox High School and plans to begin coursework at the Community College of Allegheny County and transfer to a University to pursue a Bachelor’s degree.

Matthew Zyra

Matthew has been a Carnegie Club member since the age of five and has participated in Dapper Dan basketball, hockey, flag football, and golf for the past 12 years. He is Head Coach of the 7-8 year old and 9-11 year old divisions as well as an assistant coach with the Little Dribblers program.  He’s a member of the Chartiers Valley Varsity football and tennis teams. Matt maintains exceptional grades, made High Honor Roll, and has had perfect attendance from kindergarten through eleventh grade. He’s looked upon as a positive role model, and he leads by example to convey the importance of fair play to the younger members.

Jackson Blaufeld

 Jackson has been a volunteer at the Shadyside Club for the past three years. He has a tremendous passion for sports, is an accomplished basketball player, and looks for every opportunity to assist staff and share his high morals and values with younger children at the Club. A long-time member, he has assisted with summer day camp the past two years and has been a youth coach and referee with flag football. He eagerly translates the importance of good sportsmanship and teamwork to other Club members.
