BGCWPA is extremely grateful for all of the support that makes this time of year special for each of our youth! This holiday season, BGCWPA had the opportunity to partner with many generous members of the community and corporate partners who are dedicated to giving back and spreading holiday spirit!

Shop with a Cop- On December 18th, youth from our LaRosa Boys & Girls Club of McKeesport had the opportunity to participate in “Shop With a Cop” at Walmart to bring together local youth with law enforcement officers! Shop With a Cop is an annual event that allows youth to purchase holiday gifts for their family, friends, and loved ones. The Shop With a Cop program in 2019 alone has served over 300 children in Allegheny and surrounding counties, with the number of youth served growing each year. This program provides children with not only gifts, but a positive role model, community relationships, and a life changing experience.

Will Allen Foundation Holiday Giving Program- BGCWPA would like to extend a huge thank you to the Will Allen Foundation for partnering with us during the Will Allen Foundation Holiday Giving Program. Founded by former Steeler and Ohio State Alumni, Will Allen, the Will Allen Foundation’s mission is to provide services and resources in an effort to instill hope, remove barriers, promote education, advocate civic responsibility, and change lives in the community. Local volunteers, including former Steelers Charlie Batch and Arthur Moats, helped BGCWPA youth shop for their families, encouraging youth to “pay it forward” while also sending every child home with a special gift for themselves.

BGCWPA Clubhouse Holiday Programs- On December 19th, each of our 8 Clubhouses held holiday parties for their Clubhouse members with gifts, crafts, games, treats, and fun for all! Thanks to our community and corporate partners, our youth were all given holiday gifts and a surprise visit from Santa!

Bus Stops Here Foundation Annual Toy Drive- The Jerome Bettis “Bus Stops Here”  Foundation once again donated holiday gifts to our BGCWPA youth as part of their annual holiday giving toy drive! Each year, Jerome Bettis dedicates his holiday season to improving the lives of local youth. Jerome explains, “Christmas is not as much opening presents as it is opening our hearts.”

BGCWPA would like to thank ALL of the donors, supporters, and volunteers who made this holiday season extra merry and bright for the over 6,000 youth we serve!
