Meet Kaiden, one of our Club on the Go participants! Kaiden wants to see more stained glass windows in his neighborhood, so he used his Club on the Go art kits to make some! Great job, Kaiden!

This summer over 425 individual youth and over 180 families have officially received deliveries right to their doorsteps, free of charge, to keep youth engaged mentally, physically, and emotionally while at home throughout the Summer months.

At a time when our Clubhouse members and families need us most, Boys & Girls Clubs of Western Pennsylvania is continuing to evolve our services. By removing everyday barriers our youth members face including transportation and funding, BGCWPA is ensuring youth have access to the fun, educational resources and materials they need to continue to grow as individuals and advance their education.

While this Summer may look a bit different for many of our youth that would typically be spending their out of school time attending our Summer Day Camp program, “Club on the Go” can assist in the transition to new ways of learning as they prepare for what the 2020-2021 school year may look like.

Included in the first of many Club on the Go deliveries:

Growing Hope Kits: centered on exploring healthy eating and physical wellness,  including plants, seeds, pots and soil along with a pedometer, water bottle and healthy living materials and the opportunity to earn a  fit bit fitness tracker. These kits are sponsored by Dollar Bank and The Grable Foundation, a leader in remaking learning in our region and beyond.

-Art Kits:  Kits provided by Artsmiths of Pittsburgh, Art4All initiative with each kit containing four art &  media making activities to encourage youth to develop their creativity and cultural awareness. These art kits are sponsored by Wells Fargo!

Upcoming deliveries for the second half of the summer include our STEM kits and food boxes/hygiene kits as requested on our family needs assessment form.  Please note we are at max capacity for Summer 2020 deliveries but you can be placed on our wait list.

STEM Kits: in partnership with Carnegie Mellon Robotics Academy youth will become a Game Designer with a series of boxes full of materials to create their own game, delivered right to their door. Robotics Academy will use youths designs to create a real online game!

Thank you to our dedicated community partners, The Grable Foundation, Wells Fargo, Dollar Bank and Artsmiths of Pittsburgh for supporting BGCWPA as our youth members adjust to new ways of learning, and continue to provide new opportunities for youth to explore their interests.
