This year has proven a challenge for many, but organizations such as BGCWPA, corporations like Levin Furniture and partners like Get Marty are working hard to make this holiday season a little brighter.

Robert Levin, owner of Levin Furniture, understands Mr. Levin’s grandparents, Sam and Jessie, started the store in 1920. Recently the company was sold and then bought back by Mr. Levin. During the restructuring, they gave each employee who was furloughed $1,500.  “This gift from me is tax free and does not need to be paid back. Please use it for health care premiums or for any expenses or needs you may have,” Levin wrote, according to the Tribune-Review.

Now that Levin Furniture is back on solid footing, Robert Levin is doing even more by giving back to the community. He is teaming up with Get Marty to give $5,000 worth of free furniture to 3 deserving families in our local communities as part of the Levin’s ‘Furniture for Families’ giveaway. Boys & Girls Clubs of Western Pennsylvania is proud to be a partner of this giveaway by assisting to choose the worthy winners.

Furniture for Families was born out of Robert Levin’s understanding that this has been a very difficult year for so many. With this, he asked the community to submit nominations for someone they know who could use new furniture. 145 nominations were received, outlining just how great the need is.

The winners remained a surprise until Marty Griffin showed up at their door as part of his Get Marty show. So far, Marty has surprised 2 of the three families:
