Spring is upon us and it is time to begin thinking about Summer 2021! In Western Pennsylvania, the air is getting warmer, the sun is shining brighter, and BGCWPA is gearing up for the best summer ever!

Boys & Girls Clubs of Western Pennsylvania is excited to announce that we will be open for Summer Camp at our Clubhouse & partner locations for in-person Summer Camp programming  with exciting new thematic weeks June 14th – August 13th! In addition to in-person programming, new in 2021, BGCWPA will be offering multi-format specialty programs, new community located specialty Summer Camp classes, paid teen Summer work programming and engaging virtual classes to help get your child on the path to self-discovery, a great Summer, and a GREAT FUTURE!

Here at BGCWPA safety is our top priority, and we are doing whatever it takes to be here for our families and communities to ensure safety, quality and sustainability of our Summer programs and organization. As a trusted child care provider with months of experience executing daytime Learning Hubs, specialty and after school programming during the COVID-19 pandemic, our extensive Health & Safety Plan has proven its effectiveness making BGCWPA a top provider in Allegheny & Somerset Counties. We welcome you to Summer Camp ready to keep our youth members, staff and families safe. 

In-Person Day Camp:

Boys & Girls Clubs of Western Pennsylvania’s in-person Summer Day Camp will serve youth ages 5-13, with convenient, accessible locations throughout Allegheny and Somerset counties! We encourage youth from communities where we are not running in-person Summer Day Camp to attend our other Day Camp and specialty class locations. In-person programming will operate Monday through Friday from 10:00-5:00, with an extended day option from 7:30 AM -10:00 AM and 5:00 PM -6:00 PM to include breakfast, lunch, snack, and dinner. 

Each week your child will get to explore fun camp rotations in STEM, ARTS, Athletics, Literacy, and Gaming, with dedicated team members who are trained in Pediatric First Aid, CPR, Child Abuse, Supervision, Child Development, and Activity Planning. We will also have field trips to Allegheny County Parks and more!

Costs:

Day Camp: Regular Day Rate      10:00 AM – 5:00 AM       $150 per week per child
*Extended Day Rate available for an additional $40 per week per child from 7:30 am-10:00 am and 5:00pm-6:00pm.

Specialty STEM Classes: Regular Day Rate      10:00 AM – 5:00 AM       $150 per week per child

Learn & Earn and PPG AIPI: Free per week per child. All teens who qualify receive stipends for program participation. Read more details here on Learn & Earn or Artificial Intelligence Pathways Institute.

Financial Aid:

BGCWPA serves ALL children from ALL communities and we are committed to doing “Whatever it Takes” to ensure that ALL children get to participate in our Summer Day Camp and specialty classes through payment plans, sibling discounts, military discounts, scholarships and Child Care Works (CCW) funding. BGCWPA will not turn families away who cannot pay, we are asking you to take advantage of the many outlets we have to assist with the financial requests for support.

In person Summer Day Camp will operate with a reduced number of youth per location due to COVID-19 restrictions, sign up as soon as possible!

Virtual programming:

This Summer, BGCWPA is excited to continue our partnership with Outschool. Outschool is a platform that allows us to enhance typical virtual learning, and turn it into highly interest driven live sessions. Each week during our summer camp programming, we will offer highly curated classes taught by our instructors as well as give our members special access to numerous classes taught by teachers from all over the world
