BGCWPA is proud to announce the WINNING app, Grade- up, developed by our VERY OWN youth!
Over the last few months, BGCWPA Clubhouse members have teamed up to compete in the all girls app building competition with our friends and partners at CGI
BGCWPA had two all girl teams of programmers compete in this unforgettable opportunity. To compete, participants were asked to come up with an app idea and code it from scratch using Thunkable.
The first app BGCWPA members developed is known as Grade-up. Grade-up is an app to help students find motivation and peers for studying. Check out our member presentation introducing Grade-Up HERE or below.
The second app our BGCWPA teams developed is called Dhwani. The purpose of Dhwani is to provide a platform for South Asian and Middle Eastern women to share their voices about the disparities they face. Check out our member presentation introducing Dhwani HERE.
Both apps were submitted in the final CGI contest to win $10,000 in scholarship funding and Grade Up was crowned the winner! Congratulations to both of our teams on a job well done and thank you to our partners at CGI!
This is just one of the many incredible opportunities BGCWPA STEM programs provide for local youth to become future leaders in the fields of Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM). Learn more about our Summer 2021 Specialty STEM programs by visiting our website
