Our BGCWPA Teen Program staff members, Christine Nguyen and Emily Donato were invited to present at the PA Department of Education Standards Aligned System (SAS) Institute in Hershey, PA last week. The theme of their presentation was “Bridging the Skills Gap.” Here are a few of their slides describing our career readiness and workforce programs. BGCWPA Launches New Teen Programming


This past year, BGCWPA welcomed a Director of Teen & Support Services, as well as three Teen coordinators to best serve our growing teen population. New and improved teen and tween programming are highlighted at our Shadyside, Estelle S. Campbell (Lawrenceville) and Carnegie Clubs, in addition to the Teen Career Works program in McKeesport. Our Teen Centers, or The Club, is a safe place for teens to develop strengths, connect with others, use their voice, impact their community and build great futures. Career Works Open House 12/4!


Join us on Wednesday, December 4th from 7 - 8:30 p.m. for our Career Works Open House at the former Daily News Building in McKeesport! Featuring cookie decorating, ornament making, and a hot chocolate bar, there’s fun for all ages. BGCWPA Launches After School Program in Penn Hills Charter School of Entrepreneurship!


On November 25, 2019, Boys & Girls Clubs of Western Pennsylvania (BGCWPA) and Penn Hills Charter School of Entrepreneurship (PHCSE) partnered up to launch an after school program to support students in grades Kindergarten through 5th! PHCSE is a tuition-free public charter school that supports the entrepreneurial spirit in youth through innovative, hands-on, engaging curriculum.   Boys & Girls Clubs of Western Pennsylvania would like to extend a HUGE thank you to the JuJu Foundation and JuJu Smith-Schuster for his amazing support and life-changing donation to our youth members! The JuJu Foundation is a non-profit organization dedicated to the support of youth initiatives and lifting the spirits of those in need.
