After more than 18 months of adapting to meet the region’s needs as the COVID-19 pandemic persisted as well as listening to youth, families and community stakeholders, Boys & Girls Clubs of Western Pennsylvania began its next era of impact by launching an aspirational strategic plan entitled “Bold Plays.” The plan has four pillars: Equity & Advocacy, Sharing Our Story & Growing Brand Awareness, Family Involvement & Engagement, and Organizational Stability & Community Expansion.

Highlights of the multi-year plan, to be funded by a capital campaign, include:

  • A new focus on early childhood education, including the recent opening of three high-quality preschool programs in Lawrenceville, Carnegie and Somerset to meet the needs for families regarding childcare
  • A growing presence in the communities where BGCWPA currently provides before & after school programming and a new presence in neighborhoods and communities identified as having a need for these programs, services and outreach
  • Continued and increasing investment in staff and community partners as BGCWPA leads the way in workforce development, especially focusing on introducing youth to, and preparing them for, careers in growing STEM fields such as robotics and artificial intelligence
  • Plans to support the expansion of programming being designed in concert with families and communities to meet the needs of the region, including a state-of-the-art STEM innovation center and BGCWPA presence in additional Western Pennsylvania counties

We Believe…that the future of our youth IS the future of our region.

We Believe…that every child is worthy of a great future.

We Believe…that Bold Plays are required to create lasting solutions.

At Boys & Girls Clubs of Western Pennsylvania, we do Whatever It Takes to invite, support and inspire our youth from little…to learner…to leader…so that each young person has a bridge to a remarkable future.

Please join us for the important work ahead.
