Boys & Girls Clubs of Western Pennsylvania Dapper Dan Youth Athlete of the Year Michael (Dino) Tomlin has been selected by Boys & Girls Clubs of Western Pennsylvania as the Eat’n Park Hospitality Group Dapper Dan Youth Athlete of the Year. As an honor roll student, Michael Tomlin was starting Wide Receiver for the #1 ranked WPIAL Class 2A Team. He averaged 34 yards per catch and scored 18 touchdowns leading Shadyside Academy to a quarter final appearance in playoffs. Remake Learning Days Across America (RLDAA) is a celebration of innovative experiences and opportunities for youth to develop their sense of creativity, perseverance and curiosity. Boys & Girls Clubs of Western Pennsylvania is hosting daily STEAM events across our Branches. Remake Learning Days is a festival of events hosted by a variety of organizations, such as schools, museums, libraries, after school organizations, early child care centers, universities, media centers, tech startups and more. These events are designed to be hands-on, relevant and engaging educational experiences for youth of all ages (pre-K through high school) and their families, caregivers and educators. [...]
Pittsburgh Technology Council recently held a STEM Summit for students and business partners. Boys & Girls Clubs of Western Pennsylvania had a number of teens attend. The teens went to Peoples Gas and BNY Mellon. We are so proud of the way they volunteered to speak, ask questions and participate in activities! Everyone learned so much. Congratulations to Matthew Zyra the 2017 Eat 'n Park Hospitality Group Dapper Dan Youth Athlete of the Year Matthew has been a Carnegie Club member since the age of five and has participated in Dapper Dan basketball, hockey, flag football, and golf for the past 12 years. He is Head Coach of the 7-8 year old and 9-11 year old divisions as well as an assistant coach with the Little Dribblers program.
