Boys & Girls Clubs of Western Pennsylvania’s Arts program encourages youth to develop their creativity and cultural awareness through knowledge, appreciation and performance. Art used as a relaxing hobby can offer mental health benefits of stress relief, improved everyday mood, creative thinking, boosted self-esteem, a sense of accomplishment, and improved clarity throughout the school day. This core program teaches youth:
- STEAM Activities
- Photography, Woodworking
- Drawing, Painting, Crafts, and Ceramics
- Creative Writing and Story-Telling
- Guitar/Music Lessons, Chorus and Talent Shows
- Theater Productions
The Arts program provides Clubhouse members a variety of opportunities to showcase their talents, including the National Photography Contest, the National Fine Arts Exhibit, and agency-wide performances and competitions.
